Hi all......I would like to put a scope on my AR 15 (carry handle mount) however i'am not sure which one to go with. I have been looking through the adds in CDNN and Cheaper than Dirt ect. Can anyone tell me if Brands of scopes like BEC, BSA, ATN are any good? or can anyone advise me of a good name brand scope? I'am looking to spend around a hundred bucks or so, any help would be great!!!! thanks.

well I guess the ACOG is out of the question for you...but seriously if you want to mount a scope on it, you will first have to get a LEATHERWOOD type of adapter with the weaver rail on it, if you want to mount a scope with rings....they make copies of those and can run you around 30 bucks or so...or you can get the cheap chinese copy of the colt scope that mounts on the carry handle...but you will be disapointed in those. my advice spend a little more and get a quality scope, I bought cheap scopes and they are not of the same quality as the higher priced one...you will have paralex issues with them. optics are not that great, espeically in low lighting condition. and generally they are not very well made.

I would look at the IOR scopes, german optics, illuminated reticle, where you can adjust the intensity. I have one mounted on my G3 clone, and it is a great scope, no paralex, very clear optics, and a very well made scope all together...they make them for the .223 bullet drop compensator. if you buy quality the first time, you won't be looking for another scope to replace it. the best price on those is 292, and they are well worth the money.

Are you looking to hit some targets at a good distance or really competitive shooting? That is where the decision on how much $$$ spent should be made in my experiences. I bought a Bushnell 3-9x40 and mounted on top of mine and it does all that I want it to do at 250 yds. I don't shoot competitions, so I didn't drop over $100 for a scope. Depends on your needs.
A link to some photos of mine with scope on it....

I haven't heard a lot of good things about Leapers/BEC scopes. If you want a carry handle mount scope with Bullet Drop Compensator for around $100 dollars you don't have a lot of options. As sfc ret said, you might want to wait a little longer untill you have more money set aside to put into one.
The AMT 5x33 is usually around $220 and a lot of people seem to like them. You can probably find them cheaper than that if you look around. I seen one at a Gun Show once for $185.
Those Chinese scopes don't hold their zero well and mounting screws like to fall out of them.
