This is my first AR15 post so please be patience this AR stuff is new to me. I have found a new RRA reciever at a local shop for $129.00. Are they any good? I was thinking about putting a J&T upper kit on it. The upper kit is a 20" barrel, flat top. Does anyone know anything good or bad about these items? This newbie thanks you.

It's an excellent lower receiver. What do you want it to do? Military clone or target/varmint? I personally would recomend sticking with RRA for the upper assembly & 2 stage trigger group. Upper to lower fit using all RRA is snug/tight. No rattling or need for an accu-wedge. Some comparisons:

.........................J&T.........................................RRA..... ......................
Barrel:.........Shaw SS............................Wilson SS Air Gauged..........
Test fired?...If requested.......................All test fired........................
Chrome lined?..optional..........................optional .............................
Accuracy?....."we've seen it done"........1"@100yd guaranteed........
.................................................. ............(CrMo)..(SS).expect better.

There's probably more, I don't remember. All the above specs came from the respective current catalogs.

Check AR15.com for more opinions, besides mine.
