New Black buffer testing started, PIX

Hi friends, Blackjack and I have been working out some minor details of his new, improved buffers. These new ones have a taper on top to allow clearance with the receiver cover. There is also a cut-out to allow it to fit better over the spring keeper, and conform better to the back of the receiver. Did I mention that they are BLACK! The black color looks really slick when installed, like it was designed along with the AK and not after the fact. These are prototype buffers at this time, pending verification of production quality and testing, they should be available soon.

I will be headed to my local range on Saturday to put these new guys to the test. I will be using both milled and stamped models just to see how they stand up in both receiver versions, as well as in all calibers. Full report will follow.

Thanks for the pix, Imanaknut. I installed a blue buffer in my AK and was wanting to see a pic to make sure I put it were it should be.

Due to family obligations, my daughter and I were unable to go shooting on Saturday. (Christmas thing) Weather permitting, we will make another attempt on Monday.
