The Chinese parts fit the same.
After all, that's where the Chinese got their parts in the early years and milling specs.
I don't see advertisments for the Russian parts.
This is probably due to the Russians selling all their excess parts to China back in the early years. Then China used the parts to assemble rifles.
Then when they got all their mills up and running they produced their own parts.
I would imagine if someone was selling spare Russian parts, they would be from stripped down rifles.

Does anyone know where is a good place to obtain spare parts for the Russian SKS? Chinese parts seem to be fairly common, but I'm told these won't work in Russian rifles. Someone on another board previously gave me some info on a place in Ohio, but I've since lost the name and address.

Hmm... Are you sure about that? I've recently seen Chinese bolts and bolt carriers (the type of parts I've been looking for) in TAPCO's catalog, and they specifically stated they would not work in Russian rifles.

some chinese parts will not fit russian guns, the bolt and bolt carrier for one are not the same, not sure what else will not interchange.

Well I guess I stand corrected. http://www.ak-47.net:81/akcgi/smile.gif
I have never heard this.
I was told the machining was the same.
I haven't actually tried fitting Russian parts in a Chinese rifle or vise versa.
Has someone actually verified this?
