The holes need to be filled.

When I remove a block, I cut the pins flush with the inside of the receiver, and reinstall them, to preserve the original exterior appearance of the firearm.

Others use Delrin (tm) plastic to plug the holes, which is a pretty good color match for the original pins, or the holes can be TIG welded closed, and the entire receiver stripped and refinished for the ultimate in block removal.

I can remove the block for $50 to $100, depending on which block it is (1 large pin on the left and a small pin in the back middle, or 1 large pin on the left and 2 large pins on the right), plus return shipping.

3-letter prefixes in the serial number usually denote post-ban manufacture.
