Is there, anywhere on this planet, a source to locate serial numbers for Chi-Com and Russian SKS's? Due to the fact that there were various arsenals manufacturing them, I assume there would have to be a list from each arsenal?? How would the BATF determine the age in regard to compliance to the various bans? I, mean, this really sucks!

The BATF would probably just check when the
importer brought them in the country to
determine the legal status, plus almost all
SKS's have an Importer's marking stamped on
the receiver or barrel.

What would the stamp look like mine did'nt have anything other than #416 on everything. Russian made.
Look on the barrel on the right side between the gas block and front sight. The importer name and town and state will be stamped on it.

No there is nothing, no markings whatsoever on the weapon except factory markings and machinst symbols of those who made. Just the number from the factory #416. I told everybody mine was not refinished and their is no importer markings at all just Russian markings. It does not matter I sold the thing this week, it was beautiful though- the best one I have ever seen.
