First, I want to get a Bulgarian Mak. Does anyone still have any C&R eligible ones?
Second, I also would like to rebuild my butchered Lithgow SMLE.
Is numrich the best place to get parts (All new furniture), or is there some place better?
Thanks.

Numrich would be your best bet for a stock. There are other places that will make one, but it would be a reproduction. A good place to get reproductions is Great American Gunstocks (http://www.gunstocks.com). Cost is considerably higher.

The only Maks that are C&R are the Russian and East German ones. The Bulgarian ones are not C&R.

Your best bet would be to hang out on the auction boards and on Gunboards. They ocassionally pop up.

If you're looking for Lithgow parts to stay correct, try Brian Dick at BDL. Nice guy, he should be able to help you.

Or, try Lewis (screen name Vulch) over at the British Gun Pub on gunboards.com. He's in Australia and has good parts connections - big time SMLE collector too.

You might try either Northridge or Springfield Sporters as a source for SMLE parts. I don't think that either of them have web sites(Northridge might), but they both advertise in Shotgun News.

Springfield went out of business a few months ago.

I would have liked to keep the buttstock, but it was cut off flat to allow a regular buttplate to be put on it.
Too bad I'll lose the orignial markings, but I guess that is just how it is.
I'll try that guy though.
The rifle originally only cost $69 in 1993 when my dad bought it for me.
The metal is about 95%, and the bore ia still about perfect. I have put three shots touching with it at 100 yds before.
I just hope I don't lose the accuracy when I change the stock.
Thanks for the help.

BTW, I am going to take possession of my first C&R shortly, a Finnish M-39.:D
I bought the Money Order today.:D
