'made in russia' in english?

i am thinking of purchasing an SKS w/ following markings:

CCCP372XX ser#
1950r
5 pt star w/arrow inside
kite shaped design underneath
'made in russia' on receiver

only thing bugging me is why would a soviet rifle say 'made in russia' and in english???

US laws say all imports must be srtamped with the country of manufacture, so this is an addition for import puposes. The "kite" is probably a shield. This example was made at Tula Arsenal.
