I recently purchased a Chineese 20 rd magazine at a gunshow. Here is my problem when it is fully loaded only the first 3 to 5 rounds will feed. After that the rounds do not move up and are under no spring pressure. I originally thought the follower was catching on the mag body and filed the follower down slightly. This did not alleviate the problem. Does anyone have any sugestions? I realize these things are hard to diagnose over the internet, but I am at my wits end. Thanks for your cooperation in advance.

Look at the "arm" that the follower is connected to. When the mag is empty does it lay flat and have a lot of spring under it? Mine had your symptoms and all I needed to do was bend the arm at it's "elbow" to make a slightly more radical angle. This put the follower more firmly in place while empty and the spring is applying more pressure when full. Because of this "tuning" I can only get 19 in the mag, the 20th will always chamber. If I push the 20th one down hard enough to have an empty chamber over a full box, I undo the tuning.

I just want to verify something you said. You think I should bend the arm toward the bottom of the magazine at the elbow in oreder to increase spring tension? I know this question is redundant but, I do not have the rilfe or magazine handy right now to inspect and I am really lousy at visiualizing things.
Appreciate your help.

I can't say for certain which way it might need bent. I had to bend mine toward the rifle or up.
