I just converted the gas block on my ndm 86 SVD I basically drilled a 1/8 inch hole in the sleeve just above the case head slot and then drilled a 1/16 inch hole thru the gas block itself for adjustment for clean/dirty rifle and as well to reduce the recoil and battering of the action with regular loads, it works great and the recoil actually did lesson somewhat.

There are pics on kalashnikov gun boards under svd and yes it can be done to the tiger and is probably recommended if you are not a pure collector.

Mack, lockwood used the same pics that I sent you.The Tigr does not have the sleeve on the block.Lockwood has a 308 chink, they came with the sleeved block but no holes. It looks like it would be easy to make one though,if you can find a metal tube with the right diameter.Connor had an adjustable block but i think he sold it.

Thanx PeeWee, I wasn't to clear on how the gas block worked. now I understand. it uses a sleeve that sits over the gas block tube that has regulated holes in it.
Thanx again

Conner was going to sell the gas block to me but I didn't need it anymore so he probably still has it.
