Factory code and year of manufacture is found on the top of your receiver cover. If it is bare, then your cover must have been replaced by someone. The serial number will not show year of manufacture, the two Cyrrilic characters only show production number in hundreds of thousands.
"The SKS Carbine" by Steve Kehaya and Joe Poyer has to be the best resource I know of, others may have better referneces. It is comprehensive, and accurate as far as factory codes, serial number decyfering, etc. I think you will find what you need there. North cape Publications, POBox 1027, Tustin, CA 92781, 1-800-745-9714, ncape@ix.netcom.com. I highly recommend this book, I found it to be very accurate.
