New range in Las Vegas

A little bit of news regarding Las Vegas (where I live). A world class shooting range just broke ground in December, 2002, don't have a schedule for completion yet, but the range will have just about every type of shooting there is, from tactical to long range (1000 yds), cowboy & pistol to skeet and trap. It is located at the extreme north end of the valley and initial daily fee is $5.00, not bad. Hope to see some of the members come out while visiting Vegas (if the significant other doesn't object)!!!

Sounds like a pretty nice range at a very nice price, but us folks here in Northern Nevada don't go for that sissy range stuff since we live where you can piss out the front door and shoot out the back door and the neighbors don't give a damn.

Seriously... In a way it's kind of too bad that Las Vegas needs a new range. It wasn't that long ago that a quick drive to the desert would give you a place to shoot.

I know, but any more there are just a few locations in clark county where you can shoot "legally". And setting up long range targets, 300-600m, is a challenge when you have an uncontrolled shooting area. That is unless you wear a kevlar body condom!
