I have an M96 Swedish Mauser that I would like to put a scope on, but I don't want to ruin the rifle by tapping the action for the scope base.
It looks like the rear site base could be used for mounting a scope or red dot. It also seems like I have seen mounts like that for Mausers some place before. Anyone seen that?

Century arms has them:
Mauser Scope Mount $ 49.87
We all have a Mauser that we would like to put a scope on, but don't want to monkey around with drilling & tapping the receiver, having the bolt bent so it will clear the scope, etc. etc. etc. Well now you don't have to! It doesn't matter if you have a bent bolt or a straight bolt, large ring or small ring action. Or if you can tell the difference between a small ring and a wedding ring! This scope mount will fit them all!! The fast thinking folks at Federal Arms have come up with a unique scope mount that clamps on top of the receiver rings like an eagle in a death grip - and won't come loose! You can mount your scope directly above the receiver, or off to the side (for straight bolts)! Best of all it's affordable and no drilling & tapping required! Why can't everything be this simple!
Condition: New

Or, if you feel adventurous, you can build your own. See how to here. (http://www.armscenter.com/dutchman/karlina.html)

Unfortunately I can't see the link because you have to be a dealer and login. Their consumer side dosen't have them listed and a search around the internet doesn't turn anything up on Federal arms except Century intl arms.

smittylite,
That looks very doable by my standards. One of the reasons I wanted to see pics was to see what they look like
:D
Thanks!
