Wow. That second one only includes one mag. That's alittle high. Glad I ordered my pair when they were first advertised.

I wouldn't mind seeing post-ban versions of this. I don't suppose they ever made hi-caps for it? If not, that would make restrictions easier.

Or US parts versions that use existing Hi-caps, like MG13 or others.

Why would you want/need hi-caps on a sniper rifle?

Also what U.S. parts? lol

There were some imported the latter part of 2002 and sold by SOG with no U.S. parts and they had the pistol grip stock, bayonet lug, and flash hider.

I had the assumption that they were pre-ban imports. Thanks for clearing that up! Does this mean we may see more of them and at possibly better prices?
And what about mil-surp non-corrosive ammo? Is this rifle still used?
I'd be real interested to learn more. I'm starting to want one, not that I can afford one. Anyone know what kind of accuracy they get?

As far as US parts versions, I was thinking the Saiga that's supposed to be coming out in 30-06 seems like it could be adapted for the 8mm round and that there could be a market for such conversions, including ones that use existing hi-caps.

I don't know about the accuracy as I haven't shot either of my M76's yet. As for more comming in your' guess is as good as mine. I ordered acouple mags for my rifles and asked SOG about them. The sales lady said they weren't expecting anymore. But someone posted that they were told by SOG they were expecting more. So who knows.

I see what you mean about the Saiga. But the Saiga is a stamped reciever and the M76 is milled. The M76 also has an adjustable gas regulator. And still my question stands.

Why would anyone want hi-cap mags on a sniper rifle?

My Romak, NDM-86's, and M76's none have hi-caps available for them. And personally I don't want them. I mean 10 rounds is enough especially if you have the mag pouch with 4 loaded mags and 1 loaded mag in the rifle.

I thought it could be more of an all purpose rifle. Even the HK-PSG takes G3 hi-caps. I figure as cheap as 8mm is it would make a competitive plinker.

If you get a Saiga, stay with the 30-06. Ballisticly it's the same as the 8mm, and match grade 30-06 ammo is much easier to come by. You wouldn't gain anything by converting it to 8mm.

I of all people should agree with you, being as I have 30-06 (and 308 for that matter). But I think an 8mm blaster would be nice since ammo is so cheap and a chrome lined AK barrel and stainless piston could handle corrosive ammo.

Main drawback I see is that 8mm may run out and isn't very common or affordable commercially. If it weren't for all the cheap surplus 8mm out there, it would make no sense. One thing that has kept me from going 8mm. Though military 308 costs twice as much, and 30-06 3x as much, they aren't going anywhere.

The Yugoslavian M76's don't have chrome lined bores.
