Default Ammo question

Does any manufacturer still make greased standard velocity .22's ?

Everything I see nowadays is hyper velocity this or moly/copper that. I have an old Winchester 62 that like nice mild greased standard velocity ammo.

I can still get Winchester Wild Cats for $10 a brick at the shops in my area, if you're talking about just some good old 40grain round nose lead bullets.

I have not been able to find any standard velocity ammo for years... I have an old woodsman pistol that my dad bought new for $33, I know this because I have the original reciept and box... But it likes the standard velocity ammo to keep it held open at the last shot... I have not fired that gun in many years because of that

Any target ammo is going to be standard velocity. A good buy is the Wolf Match Target for $2.50 a box, it's very accurate for the money. Find it here:

Click on "Ammunition" in the left hand column. GG

I too, would recommend Wolf Target Ammo. It's REALLY good stuff for the money. I shoot it with very good results.

It's not moly coated. I always assumed it was grease coated, but it could be a light wax. Either way, it shoots great!

I believe Remington Cyclone and thunderbolts (don't like the thunderbolts myself but had good luck with the cyclones) have a lubaloy coating to make em slickererererer...
