Default CCI Mini Mags

Ok, I have been out of the rimfire game for a while. I recall Mini Mags as being one of the better .22's around, but now I just read an article in SGN about the Ruger 10-22. They tested a variety of ammo in the gun they had, and the Mini Mags were just about the worst of the bunch.

What kind of experience have you guys had?

I have shot the mini mags and I like them, or should I say that one of my guns likes them. It is all about the gun, you should buy a box of mini-mags and see how it preforms in your gun. I have one gun that is dead on with the walmart bulk box and the more expensive stuff sucks in it. A box of 100 is cheap and with any gun you pick the gun and let the gun pick the ammo

Mini-mags are good for one reason: consistent velocity.
In my tests, lot to lot, they are always more consistent than the FedWinRem offerings. My 10/22 happens to shoot them very well.

I cant use them in my Rem 597 because of the wax thats on it. It binds in the double stack mag and wont feed.
But ALL of my pistols love the mini mag. Shooting off hand at 20 yards They will group about 1-1/2". I cant ask any more than that from an inexpensive ammo.
