Default Subsonic vrs. Supersonic

I just picked up 5 bricks of PMC subsonic .22 LR for a pretty good price. Is there supposed to be some reason why subsonic is supposed to be good?

Its quiet and thought to be more accurate. The bullet doesnt have to go through the sound barrier which creates some turbulance.

It's not necessarily more accurate than supersonic, but it is easier on the ears as there is no supersonic "crack" when fired. I know a good number of squirrel hunters prefer it as it doesn't spook the animals as bad.
