    Best Price on 7.62x39 Ammo?

I wasn't sure where to post this but:

Who has the best prices on 7.62x39 Ammo?
Centerfiresystems has 20 rounds for $4.20 or 1000 rds. for $200.00
I know this isn't bad, but are there any better prices out there?
I want to order a couple thousand rds. and have been looking.
    Free shipping offers help also.

I have found the above pretty good at keeping up on best prices.

Ever have any issues with the Yugo Ammo?

Yugoslav ammo is real military grade ammo, got some power. But it is corrosive primed. You will need to clean well after shooting it. Even if you have a chromed bore and chamber the gas tube insides are not nor is the iside of the receiver and frequently firing pins are not either. I have had a firing pin try to rust in place from corrosive primed ammo as I overlooked it. I'll never do that again to say the least.

The best price I've found is JGsales (jgsales.com). I bought Ulyanovsk (they were the makers of Wolf MC) http://www.jgsales.com/product_info....oducts_id/3721

It's $189 for 1000 rds, after shipping is more like $210, which isn't too bad. I haven't found much else cheaper than that.

Only thing I don't like about the Yugo Ammo is it is corrosive.
How about Wolf or Tulammo from Russia. 1000 rds. 199.00.
I know the Yugo is cheaper buy I was reading about it and found http://palmettostatearmory.com/747.php has on their website "Some rounds may show corrosion. SOLD AS IS."
Read some reviews about a lot of mis-fires with it?

I'd give the Tula Ammo a try as Tula is the arsenal that makes the Wolf for an import company. Hanging their own name on it they might just be making it a little better than Wolf.

    762 price

i always have ordered form sportsmanguide.com

join their club every year and always save, they send me coupons which reduce shipping too.
currently things are back ordered but i have recently received 762 for approx 208 shipped,

and if u are a club member they have a 4-pay plan and let u make 4 installments, even after they ship the ammo!, cant beat it if u are a budget.

i would call their customer service dept in the am for the best info..good luck

I've seen this stuff on many websites and that's the first deal I've seen warning of corrosion on the cartridges. The 1120 and 1260 round deals mostly come in sealed tins inside of a wooden crate. The 1120rd deals are on strippers also. I bought 1120rds. from The Armory when they were still $179 a few months ago and the were fine. Clean and no FTF or FTE. They've since sold out but there's still some more around as you can see on the chart above in Squeky's post. If you clean the gun after shooting you should be fine, otherwise your best bet might be some steel cased Ulyanovsk or Tula. Here's the whole list http://gun-deals.com/ammo.php?calibe...9&showall=true . I've also bought those too as well as Brown and Sliver Bear. Most anything that shoots 7.62x39 should be fine with steel cased ammo.
If you want non corrosive reloadable ammo here's some but you'll have to pay.

I picked up a case from them about two weeks ago, price stood, and they still have it in stock, according to their website. I didn't want to mess with surplus/corrosive stuff, considering my range is super-picky about potential steel cores, and Uly is lead core w/ bimetal jacket. And yeah, it's 7.62x39. My WASR eats this stuff like candy.

Also, I really wish people around here were AK afficianados like us. Instead, everyone has an AR (mostly M4) style rifle. I want to split a palette of this stuff with someone. (Freight shipping is pretty much just a flat $150 for up to 800 lbs). It'd be nice to pick up, I don't know, a case or twelve.

If you were responding to what I said about The Armory 1120rd deal they must have sold out again. When I saw what you said I though "oh cool" I must have missed that. I've been watching for this because $179 was the cheapest anyone had this stuff but I just went there http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_s...oduct1693.html and it's out of stock The cheapest I've seen anyone having this same deal now is $189 at AIM like rahatlakhoom mentioned earlier http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.as...box&groupid=39

Actually, I was replying to romak, sorry for the confusion. I can't really pick up the surplus, because on occasion, and just going from what I've heard from other people, they've gotten steel core rounds, or tracer rounds, without knowing it. Not acceptable at my range, and I dont' really wanna get kicked out after just paying the dues... hehe. So I have to go with the more commercial stuff, and that means Uly. (It's still pretty cheap over @ jgsales)

Hey no problem. I bought about 5000rds. of Ulyanovsk a few months back from CheaperThanDirt, most in the 20rd boxes for $3.59/box to shoot now and a few tins for storage. It was cheaper than dirt compared to their current price. They want $5.19 a box now.

Yeah, the price changes have been pretty ridiculous. jgsales.com has Uly for $189 / 1000 rds, but shipping usually runs another 20-25, so it's more like 22 cents a round or something. I'm tempted to contact them and find if I can get a super-bulk discount, then find a friend or two in my area, split a pallet, each walk away with maybe 5k or something, for a bit less than current prices.
