    do it yourself tracer ammo.

    I spotted this on another web site thought Id pass it along.
    mainly for re-loaders. Cold, non-incendiary, tracers.

    Under 20 cents each for safe, user reloadable tracer ammo doesn't seem so bad to me. You could load up some 9mm tracer for under $20/box.

    My guess would be chemicals like a glow stick.
    Pressure from the gunpowder mixes the components and away it goes.
    I have no need for tracers but it's a neat concept none the less.
    This is just my opinion and it's entirely correct.

    Back in the 70's and 80's I knew a guy who would purposely reload oxidized lead bullets because as they flew downrange you could see the trail of the oxidized material. Being these are sold as cold tracers it could be something as simple as that.
