Since I know some fearless women, I think I'll stick with the "balance argument" in general.
However, I can also see your "fear" argument in specific cases as being quite reasonable. But if that is the case, then I also suspect that some males would assume the same shooting position, at least until properly trained.
Rage
Considering how many woment that I know or know of that simply won't even pick up a gun... I don't worry too much about shooting posture.

I took my brother-in-law shooting once (at the request of my in-laws) and he did it. Turned his head and squealed like Nathan Lane from The Birdcage every time the gun went off too. He also has an affinity for the trouser snake, so that may have something to do with it.
Great little snub-nose and the best choice if you're gona actually shoot a lot of .357 magnum.
Built like a tank with a solid frame that can handle a steady diet of nuclear loads.
Did you polish that pistol yourself weevil?
"I'm fucking furious, I'm violently angry, and I like it. If you don't know what that feels like then I feel bad for you"
No it's a factory finish.
I've had her about 11 years now so I don't know if they still offer it but I believe it was called high gloss stainless.
I've also got an old model Vaquero from the same era with the same finish.
I've got a feeling Ruger used a little extra chrome in their SS recipe. I don't think you could get a shine like that just polishing regular steel.
Thanks for the compliments guys she's a real beauty, still one of my favorites after all these years.
Of course UPS again f'ed up the delivery of my Galco holster again so I went to the sporting good store and bought a Blackhawk holster. Seems good and it's comfortable. The Galco has it's place so now I'll have two if UPS can actually get it right. They "forgot" to load my package at one of the stops. UPS is about 30% good 70% missed deliveries to my house.
Here is the holster:
I don't like to wear "in the waistband" holsters like they were designed I like to wear them between my belt and pants. Much more comfortable and conceal well.
I'd like to find one in .327 federal mag
275 is obcenly lowpriced
....and with 110 degree weather it's a lot more comfortable.
I was berated for concealing in this manner saying it was dangerous
for not using the holster as designed on another site. They think there
is no pistol retention. I ride quads, hike mountains, rock climb, mountain
bike and have zero retention problems.
Opinions??
All of my carry holsters are inside the pants - none of my t-shirts are that long and I'm wearing XL's to handle my shoulders and beer belly
But it's amazing to me just how much gun you can conceal - a 1911 in particular hides quite well for its size.
The SP101 is a great carry gun though - if you look at that vid of my daughter shooting, you will see she's shooting double action. The bobbed hammer versions are just fine for defensive work due to the pretty good stock triggers that they have. IMHO
