    picking up a marlin goose gun today

    found one locally for 160 cash(havent seen em that chaep in 10 yrs)
    36"barreled ,bolt action 12 ga,w/ 3" chamber.........wonder how the barrel is choked?
    this will be my new turkey gun as my winny 1330 20 ga. just didnt instill confidence in me

    The Marlin Model 55 Goose Gun dates back to 1962. There was even a synthetic stock version made from 1997-2000. It should be able to reach out and touch something.

    I think all I've seen advertised were full choke, I think some of the newer models use tubes though.

    With that barrel, you can poke a turkey in the eye, then run and grab him. LOL

    oh shit thats funny slammy,so i went to get it in my new to me 01 cavalier that my wifes uncle gave us and it barely fit in the back seat .i aint shittin.id forgotten how ungainly the thing looks

    barrel to wood ratio looks like a sporterized swiss 1911.......bwahahaahh

    wood is 95% with metal beingf a solid 80%
    it has 2 screws on the l;eft side (opposite the bolt) that are at the rear of the rec> for a scope?

    im gonna go shoot this fucker .cant stop grinnin

    Blobman, out of a smoothbore shotgun you should be using a rifled slug, not a sabot slug. A sabot slug should only be used with a fully rifled barrel. Hope this helps!
