Question Which handgun scope? 2x20 Nikon or Burris

I have decided to go whitetail deer hunting this year with my .41 mag 657 S&W. I am going to put a scope on it and am having problems deciding on which one. At first I was looking for a used Burris or Leupold handgun scope because of the warranty but have come up empty on any good deals so now I am thinking about a new one that wont cost over $200. Some of the gun shops were talking up Nikon so I am looking at them now too. So here is what I am looking at. Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

Nikon Encore EER 2x20 8484 ($180 lifetime warranty)
    Burris Handgun 2x20 200229 ($197 lifetime warranty)

Sorry, I know little about scopes so I can't suggest. But I can say WELCOME to a new member!

Also, I like your Wankel rotary engine avatar. Cool!

I would have said Leupold too - but I really like the Nikon scopes that I have - and they're "just" Prostaffs.

Weaver makes a good hangun scope too IIRC.

I don't think you'll go wrong with either Nikon or Burris though.

Consider the equal reps and the closeness in price I'd look and see which is made in the USA and buy that one

    Go for the Burris

I have this one mounted on my 10mm, i really like the clarity of their lenses, and this one has the ballistic plex reticle. The posi-lock feature is great also, get it zeroed, lock it and you never have to mess with it again.

Welcome to the hand gun hunting club, it's almost like archery, gotta be real quiet and sneaky.
