    PK-A or Aimpoint Comp ML3 on an SAR-1 ??

I have the PK-A now and I also have the Aimpoint but I don't have a mount for the Aimpoint. I have not zeroed the PK yet but I had the Aimpoint on an AR and it did great. I have read that the PK's are pretty hard on batteries and the Aimpoint adverties 50,000 hrs plus on one battery.

    So, my choices are:

    1. Keep the PK; sell the Aimpoint and buy a boat load of batteries.
    2. Sell the PK; buy a BP-02 mount with some of the money and use the Aimpoint.

    Any and all opinions appreciated.....

Keep the aimpoint. The commie opitics are inferior and that's all I can say on it. It's your choice but I'd think you crazy to sell an Aimpoint and keep the PK type site.

Here is a 30mm mount that allows co witnessing of iron sights.

Everything looked great until I found the price....

Gotta do some thinking on this...I have the Aimpoint mounted in a Larue QD so a BP-02 low mount might be OK...

Now you know what to spend the PK-A money on.

What's a fair price for the PK-A ????...it's like new; never been zeroed...comes with pouch and Russian instructions, and.....the all important paint brush....

The lowest price I've seen for a new one is $250 but some might be lower... don't know.

Start it at $225 then you can haggle down to $200.

Thanks again for your information. I started to list it here when I saw the "50 post" rule. So for now, I'm going to list it on PAFOA and The High Road. No idea whether there are any AK folks there or not...When I get 50 posts, I'll list it here if I still have it.

I sat the Aimpoint on top of the SAR receiver and it looks pretty good. I'm thinking the BP- mount would be better because I could mount a short scope on it if I wanted to.
