I make it to the Iola Classic Car Show every year, but I've never made it to the military show. One if these years...
I will be there.
Also....They usually have a pretty good gunshow.

Do both. It's mostly the same cars every year, but I like the swap meet. I like to check out the rusty junk and the hot rod bimbos wandering around. Sometimes I even find something worth buying for my cruiser. Always stop by Drill Bit World and watch the guy use his amazing drill bits to drill holes in leaf springs and stainless steel. I like the cheese curds and chocolate shakes but I've never tried the grilled chicken or corn on the cob. Iola beer is just Point Special in a can. Point Special is delicious in a bottle, but in the cans it tastes like shit. Had a pretty good wind with a threat of hail come thru this year and most of the cars hit the road. Rode out the storm in a tent. Pretty good time.
Did anybody go today? I'm think of going tomorrow - the weather should be pretty nice.
I just got back from Iola. I took my sons and met up with a few buddies and their kids. It was fun but best believe the kooks were in FULL force. Lots of talk of secession..etc...etc. Probably agent provocateurs.
Lot's of guys (families) decked out head to toe in camo.
Some real cool vehicles but no Sherman's or any other heavy armor. I was disappointed at this fact considering there are a few armor collectors here in this area that have T-34's, Sherman's and a Panzer.
WASR's were $500+.
Ammo was priced...$120 500rds 7.62x39
Tons of surplus gear that is priced somewhat reasonable.
Also...
There were some pretty cool pyrotechnics for the WW2 and Vietnam reenactments.

I went this morning. A bit of a let down... most folks were packing it up by noon. I got a couple of bits and pieces at good prices: Russian type 2 AKM bayo, Russian Naval infantry SKS pouch and a couple of gun socks. Brown Bear 7.62x39 was 200 bucks per 1000. Bunch of Jeeps and trucks. Lots of rusted old military vehicle parts ,moldy web gear and fantasy nazi paraphernalia for sale.
You missed a good show. They portray an ambush complete with the MG-42 blazing.
