Wow, what prompted you to sell?

I couldn't believe it. I expected to get my initial investment back, but that was a sweet surprise even after the 15% auction fee. Johnson Rifles are gold, even sporterized.

Congrats on the Johnson sale. Not to hijack your thread but what's the story on the new toy. Are you gonna hack it down and make a mondo 4x4 out of it.

Being ready is not what matters. What matters is winning after you get there.

I beg to differ, my "Johnson" is quite bit more valuable to me.

Yes but is it valuable to anyone else is the real question....

No this one is going to remain original, I'm thinking in the future I might buy the older model M35A2 with a winch and have it bobbed.

Hey that is a damn big truck, didnt you buy that at auction a little while back, hell it is a small motel on wheels.
Saying that, do you have any improvements in mind?

Sadly no, the A3's typically go for 4K on up at auction and double that retail. This one was $4900 + 10% Government liquidation fee, It needed virtually nothing, 5000 miles and 300 hours on the powertrain. I did break a torque rod in my backyard, and replaced them all with new ones($700 for the rods, replaced myself.) and a new ether valve for cold starting along with two slow leaks on two tires, one needed a new oring, the other a grommet.

    Yeah, www.Govliquidation.com
Not in the near future. Be nice to replace the 4 speed allison with an overdrive transmission, 52-55MPH at redline is pretty slow and I don't like running the cat that high! But guessing it just wouldn't be worth the $$$, i'd rather just buy an A2 for less and get a little more speed. The roof is the only rust area, some grunt dropped something like a machinegun on the roof, denting it, causing a place for water to puddle and rust. I need to sand and repaint there. Would really have liked a winch, I was bidding on a winch truck but that one went for 7K and my wife and I set 5K as the limit.

On that govt. liquidators, I saw a $70,000 truck with a bid of $150 bucks on it...

Just out of curiosity, when the bidding ends... how much do these trucks generally go for?
