Relive teh West's first look at the AK-47

This link is to a PDF of the September 1954 issue of GUNS magazine, that featured the first article ever to profile the M43 round, and the AK-47 (misidentified as the Autovmat 54) printed in the Western world. Enjoy.

There is a place for you to click on called "Log Out" in the upper right portion of your monitor screen while you are at this website. Just click on that and don't ever log back in here and your problems are solved." --Pogo

Nice find, saved for further review. You wouldn’t happen to have more scans of old firearms related material, or a link to a place that would?

There are more than a few typos and mistakes in that article.

It's the best guess at the time. This was literally the first article ever written on the topics.

The price of guns in those ads makes you want to cry!
I sold all my guns and ammo, now I live the quiet retired life.

So would the paychecks of the guys buying this magazine in 1954. Adjusted for inflation, just about every consumer good is far cheaper today. Even (especially) gas.

You mean when a Man's paycheck could support the whole family and mom didn't have to work?
