In my opinion yes. Wish I had $319 to get them.
It's about $20-$30 more than what it would cost from AIM delivered.
Yeah I was just wondering. Seems like a pretty good price but I would not know. I do know the 7.62x39 has gone up 20$ per 1k over the last week or so.
On the Drudge report tonight some said people are starting to panic buy again.

STOP!!!! DON'T ORDER!
Here: http://www.southernohiogun.com/ammo-...tary-ammo.html
$241.20 for a full case of Russian (2160/two tins in a wood case). Yes, you have to add shipping, but you'll still be way ahead.
That's the best I've seen for a while.
$319? NO!
And you know... we have this forum called "Ammunition Depot" - go check it out - there may be an even better deal there....

THIS. Do a search on the web. I can't remember off hand who it was I bought a bunch of 5.45 from, but it was less than $300 for double the quantity shipped. Just remembered it was http://www.rguns.net/ammo.shtml
O.S.O.K has the best deal looks like.

I'd order some more myself but I've got to move again in June/July and I don't need to add any more heavy assed ammo to the pile
Last move from our house to the current rental we hired our son and his roomates from college - man did they bitch about the ammo And the "lead for casting" really got em going too

Not to mention that most all firearms that you'll be shooting it out of are fully chrome-lined because they were designed to shoot this kind of ammo!
It's good stuff. I have a shit load of it.

I dug deep and ordered a crate, made sure the dogs had enough food 'til next payday. I might not eat as much, but at $50.00+ savings before elephant ears gets back in, it's more than worth it.
AIM Surplus has a full crate for just under $260 or $130 a can. 1 can for $140. Postage is extra. It is Russian surplus, it is corrosive, but for 11 cents a round I could live with that if I had a 74 variant.
I've counciled for some time that while this ammo is priced like this and freely available that anybody looking to get an AK carbine should go 5.45 just so they can take advantage of the ammo. Of course, they need to be able to get the mags too.... but so far you can still find them for good prices.

So why are the mags such an issue? Because it is such an oddball calibre?

I don't see them as an issue really. But the 7.62x39 mags are more numerous in numbers world wide. Importers have brought more of those in than the 5.45 mag as there are probably 30 or 40 to 1 7.62x39 AK types vs. 5.45 type rifles. It comes down to imported numbers and demand. The 5.45 mags are around, they just are $3 bucks a mag any more. I have paid that little for East German Bakelite mags 10 years ago. Currently it looks like they are in the $15 buck range more or less.
I see black Bulgy poly ones around a lot. And $12 - $15 isn't too bad really.

Ah.. for the days when a case was $125 shipped.
This ammo is less than that shipped- considering the extra rounds per case....
So quit wishin and go fishin.
