Thread: Best way to mod NDS2 receiver to side folder?

Best way to mod NDS2 receiver to side folder?

NDS is out of side folder receivers until sometime in May.

What is best, short of stamping own blanks/laser cutting/high tech etc.., way of altering NDS2 receiver for fixed stock AK74 to NDS2-SF specs for Tula side folder kit?

I have milling machine, dremel etc.

I would like it to be clean and professional job, of course.

My first AK build, so pardon my ignorance if has an obvious answer.

    Thanks,

    Forest

to our little piece of the innerwebz!

It sounds like you have the tools available to do the job. The main thing to remember is that the NDS receiver is fully heat treated so you need to run fairly slow speeds & use cutting oil. The only other things you'll need are some calipers, scribe, good drill bits and a good file. Always measure three times and only cut once. The most important thing is to have fun!!!

I "think" there used to be a tutorial around about this type of mod. I'll dig around a little and see what turns up...

That was the drawing that I was looking for! There was also a tutorial for assembling/installing the forward latch mechanism etc.

I'm gonna add the drawing to the reference "sticky" with the link to it from the 1st time we added it! Thanks for posting it!

I added this pic as well... Maybe it'll help ya
