How can I find out where My Sig 229 was manufactured

Only interested because of some things brought up in another thread.
While no one ever listens to me,
I am constantly being told to be quiet.

I would suggest contacting the Sig Sauer Cutomer Service people directly. They should have the records on your pistol.

    After today, it's all historical.

Regular stuff Serial#, make, model, made in N.H. Why?

Thanks Steve I will look into that, I think they charge and paperwork has to go to Germany.

My German made ones say made in Germany Truthfully in "that other thread" they can't seem to answer the question if they are dealing with painted or parkerized slides, I'm not sure how much intelligence I'd put with it...

Because it tells you where it was made.

Took a pic of my 229.
Frame was made in Germany. It would have to have German proofs if the whole thing was made and assembled there - like my P226.

Yeah I tend to agree. Mine is a Nitron finish and I do not know how it was applied.
Plus there are no large tool markes inside the slide, it was really well machined.
    Just pondering.

CUTE? Been a very long time since somebody called me cute. When? An all German gun will have a date code of when it was proofed, one assembled in US... on the box if it's a recent one and you have the box or you could ask the "nice" folks at SIG CS and see how it goes for you.
