    1911 in 22-TCM

    http://centerfiresystems.com/AC-RI1911-9MM-22TCM.aspx

I stumbled across this gun on centerfire systems website. Its a RIA 1911 in 9mm, that also has a barrel to convert it to 22-TCM. This is new to me so I had to look it up. Apparently the 22-TCM is a 9mm necked down to take a .223 projectile (the same time as a .223 nato). Supposedly it gets about 2000 fps.

It seems kind of cool, but I can't think of a real need for such a cartridge. I've never been a fan of necked pistol cartridges. But it seems like it would make a nice .22 handgun that you could conceivably use for self defense. Not sure how I feel about it.

Anyone have any first hand knowledge with this cartridge or an opinion to share?

Sounds like a way to make the 5.7 but not use the 5.7...
