I've been shooting Wolf Mil Classic FMJ 124grn 7.62x39. I bought it after watching a YouTube
video that a guy did on WOLF. He pulled some rounds from a case at random and shows that
the consistancy of size, weight, powder load were very close. I found that it shoots pretty clean
and I get consistant groups. Great ammo for the price as far as I'm concerned.

I like the old Black Box Wolf when they used primer sealant and lacquer coating.
I sold all my guns and ammo, now I live the quiet retired life.

The new Wolf 7.62 on AIM is green lacquer coated and says its made in Ukraine, so there must be some changes going on with Wolf.

Wolf has always been good performing ammo for me. Not match quality by any means but goes bang every time and is in spec.

Our AK's were designed to shoot exactly this kind of ammo. How can you go wrong feeding them with it?

I hope there's still some available after July - after we get moved into our new diggs and I can have it delivered to my uh... gate

Buy a small amount and try it first, before you commit to a case or more.

Wolf, Tula, and WPA (wolf performance ammo) do not cycle well in my M16s, so I personally avoid it, but if it works well for you, it's inexpensive blasting ammo.

I thought this was about 7.62x39? That's what I think of when I read "military classic"...

I won't use russian .223 in my AR's either. Mini 14? Heck yah!

If you're chopping up a line of brown brown Wolf is the only way to go. It's not "authentic" otherwise.

I have run a few thousand rounds of the old wolf through an ar but havent tried any of the new stuff. I don't think the steel case seals as well as brass and it leaves the rifle filthy

When I was a dealer and shot a lot of these Russian import ammos I found Wolf to be by and large the least accurate in 7.62x39 chambering. The best was Silver Bear, Ulyanovsk Arsenal which made various offerings; Sapsan was one of them and they were a supplier of Silver Bear branded. Barnual was another good one. Tiger brand was also quite good.

I also avoid any steel-cased ammo through my AR's. Fortunately, I've got a Saiga .223, VEPR .223, SLR-106, and Valmet M71S.....and they all eat Wolf. And, although it's dirty, the 9mm Glocks chew it up just fine too.

Wolf and now, WPA offers "Military Classic" loadings in almost all calibers they offer - including .223REM.

I never had a problem with it in the AR, I just don't feel like cleaning up after it anymore.

The Federa/American eagle 55gr is cheap enough enough now days plus I get to keep the brass and reload it.
