Trying to find an AR upper assembly

    Hi all,

I am trying (with no luck so far) to find an AR-15 upper assembly (receiver, barrel, bolt & carrier, etc...) with a 20 inch barrel... but with the GOVERNMENT PROFILE (i.e. a thin barrel).

Anyone know where I might find one of these?

    Thanks.

Try Del-ton. They have a variety to choose from in both pre-ban and post-ban configurations. I'd provide a link for you but I'm posting this via cellphone and it's a PITA. Their uppers run about $400 on up.

Try Del-Ton. Mine arrived Monday and I put it together in about an hour and a half.

As mentioned either Del-Ton or Model 1 Sales. For either one you can choose the barrel you want off one of the stock kits.

    My bad.

I'd still like to have it though, HBAR and all!

So, how do you like your Armalite upper?

My mid-length Armalite A2 is my favorite AR.

I'd pick it over either of the Colt's I used to have or my eotech sighted MP15T.

I love shooting it, I would definately recommend it. Armalite even put M4 feed ramps and the upgraded extractor in it. It just seems near impossible to get a factory GI profile barrel .

Actually I've read M4 feedramps are superfluous on 20" ARs.

Probably, but it doesn't hurt anything either. I think most companies are going to using them on every upper just because it makes more sense from a manufacturing point of view.

I would rather have them than not. Also, Roger are you talking the A1 pencil bbl or the A2 gov bbl?
