    Browning Question

    As far as I know.......
    7mm, box mag, lever action.
Someone I know is trying to sell this rifle. 900.00.
It looks to have a bbl 28" and is said to have limited use.
In your opinions should I direct him here? I do not think I
have ever seen this type of rifle before.
    Thoughts.....

Even if we don't know anything about it, which I doubt with Steve (Gunreference1) around, it is never back to direct someone here.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Browning lever actions (BLR) are made in 7mm-08 and 7mm mag that I know of, they are fine sporting arms and many like them. I would think the 7mm mag would have a longer (28?) barrel then the 7mm08.

IMO for the money I'd rather have a nice bolt rifle but the BLR's do have a following.

Is that just a preference or for a reason. I know you said "a nice bolt". Is there a problem in the design.. just askin.

The Browning BLR model has been offered in two basic variations, short or long action. For the short action it has been chambered in 7mm-08 or 7mm WSM with a 20" or 22" barrel. The long action version has been chambered in 7mm Rem. Mag. with a 24" barrel. I've never known a 28" barrel installed from the factory on a BLR.

Thanx Steve. It is a 7mm Rem Mag. Guess it is just the look in the pic.

The Browning BLR's are known for better than average lever action accuracy.
They are also known for above average strength, again, for a lever action.
Because of this and because it feeds from a box magazine, so it can fire spitzer bullets safely, it has some popularity.
This is just my opinion and it's entirely correct.
