    7.62x39 ammo

Is there a site, even ours, that rates this ammo as far as specs. or as far as being reliable, functionable. I really mean there are so many different ones.
    Wolf
    Tula
    Barnul
There are so many different ones.

I buy whatever shoots consistantly through all of my weapons. I found that
Wolf mil classic has good characteristics, consistent, fairly clean, reliable,
and runs good through all five of my AK's and the SKS, mind you, all of
my weapons have been worked on and tuned up to be able to run any
round that has 7.62x39 on it. Try a box of 20 each of maybe 5 types
    and you decide
    Just me and my monkey....

binky59 said it perfectly. It pretty much comes down to what shoots best through your weapon. Granted most Russian stuff is made by one company, but there does seem to be a difference between them.

The problem is that if you ask 50 people which ammo they prefer, each will have there own favorite that works every time, and each will have one they hate. And the funny thing is a round that works flawlessly in my rifle might not be reliable or accurate in yours.

There is that much variation in some firearms.

The best thing to do is like binky59 said, buy a few boxes of each, and see which you prefer.

Personally I buy the cheapest 7.62x39 I can find and so far haven't had any AK that protested.

The above only pertains to 7.62x39. If you had asked about .223, I now shoot brass rounds or zinc plated as the current generation of polymer coated stuff works well to turn my 84S-1, SAR-3, Bushmasters M17S and AR-15 into clubs after only a couple of shots.

pertaining to the op, i have never shot any ammo of any nationality or company that i have had a problem with. EVER. the only "issue" ive ever had with x39 would be horrible accuracy from expensive us made brass ammo, which i attributed mainly to a loose bore (this was long ago, .308 loaded us x39 ammo. i think today most us manufacturers now use .311)

other calibers, i would have different comments though.
