Watched the newest episode last night and was astounded at, (if real) the prices people will pay.
They sold this guy a Mossberg MVP in .223 (cut the barrel to 16", did some lazer engraving on the stock, rebedded the action and did an action and trigger job and added a Leupold scope) and a S&W Governor that they radiused the trigger on, did an action job and engraved the cylinder on. On the show it only took like two days so not a huge amount of manhours.
The MVP last sold on Bud's Guns for right at $500. The Leupold, not sure what model but let's say $1000. The S&W Governor is listed at $799.00 shipped. American Guns probably paid less then those prices as a retail FFL. I'm estimating maybe $2,300 total for both guns and the scope.
They charged the guy $10,000
I sure didn't see $7000 + worth of work on either firearm.
This is like the second episode I've seen where the price of a (minor to moderately customized firearm) was what I would consider through the roof. Anyone else think their prices are outrageous?
P.S. I've also yet to see them offer a fair value on a trade-in firearm. Seems like they lowball everyone.
