    thoughts on wasr10?

was about to put a colt 6920 on layaway and just handled a wasr10. looks new $500
are these chrome lines and come from romania ready for the double stack or are they modded single stacks?
my thoughts are i could get this now then get a good ar 556 lower and put one together.
so my 2nd question is what lower i would go for with for an ar15? i don't really want a frankenrifle. prolly go with like upper and lower.
    armalite?
    thanks

They have chromed bores and are modified from single stack imported rifles. they are serviceable rifles and work well in most cases, there have been reported issues with fit and finish and other problems but generally most are good decent rifles. I'm not sure I'd pay $500 for one but I think the prices are getting up there.

IMO any forged AR lower will work, I like DPMS, Spikes, Stag and RR, generally when I shop I try to get any of those for as close to $100 as I can.

last i saw shotgun news price for a wasr was $450, but I wouldn't pay that unless it came with a lot of extras

go with the colt and wait for a better ak

the job situation has me leery on doing a $1k layaway and don't really wanna sell one of my glocks for this.
a better ak will cost nearly the same as an ar.
the wasr would make a good car gun. and if it gets ripped thats much beta than a $1k ar getting stolen. just my thoughts for a beater gun though.
i've heard of the wasrs getting 2"00 groups, that sounds great

That's my thoughts exactly, keep the glocks, $450 car gun stolen beats the shit out of a grand walking away and everyone's head is bigger than 2" in any direction. A .047 mm front sight replacement post from tech sights will let you actually see your target within the notch of the back sight unlike the issue fence post front sight.

I would go with a decent Rock River or Stag AR-15.. and have a weapon I'm more comfortable using. AK's are great but I prefer an AR.

Smith&Wesson m&p sport, should run you $650 for less from your local shop (if you're lucky less) excellent quality rifles and definitely the best option at it's price point

Try to keep the Glocks, you will probably pay more in the future than you can get for one now.

When I get an AR I plan to continue using the WASR as a car gun because of the higher likelihood of car break-ins compared to burglary. 7.62x39mm is cheaper right now.

Hope you get both eventually, keep what you have now if possible.

    I have a S&W M&P 15 Sport on order.

For $500 here's what I would want in a WASR:

    Lots of extra mags.

Modded (WELL) to accept double stack mags. As little mag wabble as possible.

Clean fit and finish. (No canted sight or gasblock B.S.)

Basically, for that price, I'd want iot to be one of the nicer examples of a WASR 10, and come with some goodies.

    But that's just me...

AFA their status as a shooter? They work great! Won't win any beauty contests, but they go bang when they are supposed to and will definitely stay on a paper plate at reasonable AK range.

    +1

Although there is nothing wrong with a WASR, it was my first EBR, and it ran thousands of rounds before I upgraded to a Yugo, then again to a SGL21.

If your shooting under 200 yards and like AKs then I say fuck it, get that $500 WASR before election time. A year from now if prices somehow miraculously come down, are you really going to kick yourself over $100 bucks?

Buy it, shoot it, love it.

    Rax's jailhouse chichi

    1 pack chicken ramen noodles
    handfull real bacon bits
    handfull peanuts
    2 handfulls cheez-its (crushed up)
    1/2 oz hard salami
    soy sauce

while you boil your ramen cut up the salami into tiny pieces and put them into bowl, now add your peanuts, bacon bits and cheez-its and mix up.
Once your ramen is done drain off most of the water and add the seasoning packet and other ingredients while stirring, let sit on stove until everything is soft, now throw in your soy sauce to taste.
