    AK Riveting

No pics yet, but I bought a few rivet head bits for my air chisel. Finally got to use them while building my Polish U/F.

Made a jig for the front trunnion rivets and used a steel plate for the rear trunnion. All rivets were formed on the outside.

Give me a bit and I'll get some pics.

You formed the domed head on the outside of the receiver? That's opposite of how they are done normally.

I know, but it was real easy. For the rear trunnion I used a 1/2" plate for backing and for the front trunnion I made a 3/4" rod welded to a square tube. Did the rough shaping with my pneumatic hammer and finished by hand with one of the rivet tools. Will do a pic today.

Is there something wrong with shaping the head of the rivet on the outside?

No pics yet, it's just another u/f AK.
