Nice job on the wood. What stain/dye did you use?
You must live in Kalifornialand. That is a mag lock, right?

Nice looking rifle!

What is that box looking item where the mag release should be? I'm going to guess a nerfed type of release where you need a tool to remove the mag? Other than that nice looking rifle.

The red stain really makes it shine but the brown above isn't to shabby either. Who made the stock set if I may ask?
The new finish definitely looks better.
Good call
Am I the ONLY one in here that sees that its not the same stock set?!!?!?!
He didn't just stain it, he replaced it.

The original stock came with the gun when I bought it from Global Trades back in 2002. The upper hand guard is marked made in Hungary. I assume the lower handguard and buttstock are also Hungarian because of the matching finish.
The new stock came from ironwood designs and is their beech SA85 stock with the fat checkered pistol grip substituted in.
The front trunion at least is polish and I was told the barrel assembly is from a polish AK47, NOT AKM.
I replaced the bolt carrier with a Bulgarian one I found online that was in the white. both the new and original bolt carriers were AK47 pattern not AKM.
The receiver is FEG made in Hungary.
That looks nice. I used True Oil on my Ironwood. The longer it took to apply the better it looked.
