What would be a good tactical shotgun for a women?

My girl friend wants a tactical type shot gun for self defense. She thinks that a 20g would be sufficient and has been dove hunting in the past. What would be a good choice for her? I am thinking a pump Mossy. It needs to be good quality with unmatched dependability. Priced low is a plus.

    Thanks

Mossy or Remy in 20 gauge. I would think a Saiga in 20 gauge would be great also. Show her all three and let her pick.

Mossbergs are always a good choice.Do they make a tactical type 20ga?

I'm looking at your list and not seeing 20 ga under the 590, only 12 ga.

My favorite Mossberg of all is the 930, but it's a 12 ga too.

That 930 looks mean. I think with the combonation of her long red hair and that 930 would be enough to scare the perpetrator away without even firing a shot. I will have to show her that 930 and see what she thinks.

    I thought you wanted a 20ga?

On the other hand, the 930 (although a 12ga) will kick less because it's not a 12ga "pump gun."
    Dunno?
    Maybe she will like it.

    Just in passing:
Another really cool thing about the 930 is that spare barrels are not very expensive.
You can put a hunting/SHTF survival barrel on the same gun like in the pic below...

...And then what is even cooler yet....is that LPA now makes a front sight for vent-ribbed barrels!
This will allow you to still use your rear Ghost Ring, no matter which barrel you have installed...

This is why the 930 is on my fantasy list.
It can be a damned formidable home defense gun, and then transform into a tactical hunter too, all in one gun.

    Here's an even better pic.
The more I think about it, the more I think you should get this one.....just because "I" like it.
Your wife will get over it.

A semi-auto 20 gauge would be awesome. Even I'd buy one of those. Do they make 'em?

Depends on the woman.. I have seen small women handle a .12 like a big man! However for the average woman I would have to agree that the 590 in the .20 would do very well!

    OH! OK.
ELC said the same thing above, and I was beginning to think I was losin' it or something.
    Thanks for the clarification.

I've got one that may be for sale. Custom sling would be extra though.

Man or woman, it does depend on the person. Too many listen to the wrong advice and buy a firearm they can't handle instead of one they can handle. If it is painful, no one will practice enough to be competent with it.
