C&R Collectors Under Fire By Obama

I copied this message from my local gun owner's forum. I am not only concerned with the C&R subject, but also with banning milsurp ammo supplies from overseas.

    Collectors Under Fire By Obama
    Thu Jan 17, 2013 9:03 am

Obama wants Congress to allow ATF to decide on all importation of C&Rs. Wanna bet EVERYTHING suddenly becomes a dangerous weapon?

From page 7 of the linked document:
    http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/defa..._time_full.pdf

And in case it mysteriously disappears:
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/120678993/...-AND-CHECKLIST

Eliminate restrictions that force the ATF to authorize importation of dangerous
weapons simply because of their age:
ATF is required to authorize the importation ofcertain “curio or relic” firearms, and outdated regulations include all firearms manufactured morethan 50 years ago in the definition of “curio or relic.” But today, firearms manufactured more than50 years ago include large numbers of semiautomatic military-surplus rifles, some of which areeasily convertible into machine guns or otherwise appealing for use in crime. Congress should get rid of restrictions that prevent ATF from changing this definition, enabling ATF to ensurethat firearms imported as curios or relics are actually of interest as collectibles, rather than letting these rules be used as a way to acquire fully functional and powerful military weapons.

You would think after 4 years of foolishness and ineptness he couldn't get any dumber but it looks like he was just warming up. Good thing this is a big country and can absorb a lot of fecal matter without bursting at the seams.

Wel, now he has "a lot more flexibility".

I.E., he doesn't have to hide what an assclown he is anymore.

OK, I added the corrected links to the OP.

So if you're writing letters to your congress critters, you can add this outrage as well.

No surprise here. He does not want reasonable gun restrictions, he wants gun control. Period.

So it really does look like they want to ban all semi automatics.

They want to ban semis, bolt guns, revolvers ... all guns. The most common semi that is 50 years old is the SKS rifles. There's also the Rashid, Ljungmans and FN 49 and some FN FAL types from some countries though most of those the FAL's were select fire. Brazil did make a semi only version that was a Police gun vs. military FAL.

Just one more overt step in obama-messiah's path of trashing the United States as we know it.

No offense to the thread title here, but it's not just C&R that's under fire from Obama, AMERICANS are under fire from him!

So, in the year since this thread started, has anything been banned? Other than the Korean rifles, any more added to the list of those not allowed to those of us who used to have rights that shall not be infringed?
