Last week at a gunshow (the first I've been to for 6 years) among the tables of $40 steel AK mags and $300 sporterized arisakas I stumbled upon a pair of khyber pass enfields

Quality is, you could say, suspect. As you can see they are the same "model" but one is a good bit longer then the other.

the longer one also appears to have a handmade stock set, with the barrel channel being very roughly chiseled out.

the shorter rifle has an original enfield stock, but the buttplate screws are stripped out, so they just installed a new buttplate, upside down

as is common they both have duplicate factory markings, but I have my doubts about them being that old

Something tells me it wouldn't be the brightest idea to shoot these things, perhaps because the shorter one's barrel is bent, or perhaps because the longer one has about 1/8" back and forth travel in the bolt when its closed. I got the pair for $175 OTD
