BASICALLY, A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY HAS DECIDED TO MAKE ITS OWN RULES ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION. OBVIOUSLY, OUR VERSIONS ARE NOT SUITED FOR THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION

So, does that mean you can own any type of firearm you want, like a full-auto rifle or sawed off shotgun? Since the Constitution doesn't apply there, then all the nation's laws don't apply either. Sounds like a "free zone" to me.

And, it you are a landowner there, does that mean you don't owe federal property taxes? And, you can shoot to kill and not have to worry about murder charges?

    Wow.

8 U.S.C. § 1357(a)(3) -Powers of immigration officers and employees

    (a) Powers without warrant
Any officer or employee of the Service authorized under regulations prescribed by the Attorney General shall have power without warrant—

    (3) within a reasonable distance from any external boundary of the United States, to board and search for aliens any vessel within the territorial waters of the United States and any railway car, aircraft, conveyance, or vehicle, and within a distance of twenty-five miles from any such external boundary to have access to private lands, but not dwellings, for the purpose of patrolling the border to prevent the illegal entry of aliens into the United States;
The Attorney General's office has stated that the "reasonable distance" is 100 miles from a border.

The Supreme Court disagrees and says it is AT the border only

All valid arguments. They can't have it both ways.

    "What sick, barbaric bastards.

It's one thing to use terrorism to make a political statement, but the wanton mutilation and suffering of innocents? How does that forward your political goals? When done in the name of religion, how does that earn you brownie points with God?

Fuck religious extremism. And especially fuck the "religion of peace." "

So, lagcsocialist supports terrorism AS LONG AS ITS FOR POLITICAL ENDS....

    Mostly from crazies websites...

I know the ACLU isn't exactly thought highly of here, but at least it should be reliable enough to know there is some validity to the issue.

Just remember, this isn't exactly a new development, this story goes back at least to 2006.

I think this maybe popping up on some of the right wing websites as a new story to try to add to the whole "Obama is planning to round us all up and murder us" thing that's been going on lately.

In reality the story actually likely goes back to the 1970's when they started putting in some immigration checkpoints more inland.

    DHS Establishes Constitution-Free Zones

"Attention, citizens. Please check the chart below to see if you still have your 4th Amendment rights. All those living in the orange-shaded areas are no longer protected from unwarranted searches and seizures of their property.

While the media has remained mostly silent, the Department of Homeland Security has declared that it can seize any electronic device without probable cause within 100 miles of our borders. However, DHS has defined the "borders" as any natural barrier, physical or political, including bodies of water. This "Constitution-Free" zone extends 100 miles inland from our northern and southern borders and east and west coasts. As a resident of Philadelphia, I would no longer be protected by the 4th Amendment, nor would about 150,000,000 other Americans in other cities."

Just as those trying to enforce those actions are not guaranteed unarmed confrontations. Sounds like the a surefire way to start a "hot response" and total non-compliance.

    "No laws" works both ways.

Shit. I just went to the map and I live in the "no-Constitution" zone.

Damn, before this, all I had to worry about was a criminal breaking into my house; now I have to worry about the Government breaking in, too.

Oh well, they'll both get the same reception. After all, neither one of us is protected by the Constitution now.

To me, the big question is, what is DHS giong to do if they catch an "Unpapered" individual at one of their checkpoints?

They are letting all the ones presently incarcerated go free anyway.

Why do we even have a DHS?

The page is kosher to me. Thats covering all of harris county and Bexar county in texas. Two of the three largest cities in that state. That would not go over well. Just another attempted power grab by and out of control agency.

Someone, somewhere, is in control and they know what they're doing.
