Sorry OT: Was that picture taken with a Nikon point-n-shoot camera? I have a reason for asking.

I'd rather feel like a dick than pay out the ass.

I don't think I could own a .22 can without threading every .22 in the house.

Well, except the collectibles and the NAA of course.

Now, a can on a NAA brings some rather interesting mental images to mind...all of them humorous.

    Blast from the past!

AMT 45 hardballer long slide ... I wish I had the laser like the one in Terminator but then he didn't have the muzzle break that adds another inch to the already 7" long barrel/slide

I've got an AMT .45 cal pistol... a bit smaller though:

This pic shows just how small it is:

It's got a REALLY heavy trigger pull, but I like that because I can carry it chambered safely. My wife complains that the trigger is too hard to pull for her. I said if someone were attacking her, the adrenaline would give her more than enough strength to pull the trigger... over and over again until the mag was empty.

Getting an AMT Hardballer was a dream of mine when I was a teenager. They still look good, but I don't think I will look for one, other interests now.

Krupski, how many rounds does that little one hold, 4?, 5? Seems pretty small for a .45 ACP to hold very many rounds.

You might like the XDs-45. Exact same dimensions as the 9mm version but with 5 rounds of .45 with the flush mag and 7 with the full length. Now they also have a six round for folks that needed something in the middle, I guess.

    Since we're discussing .45:

It holds 5 in the mag and 1 in the pipe.

The magazine itself is an M1911 type, just made shorter. A 1911 mag would make a nice "hangs out past the grip" 8 rounds, but the mag retaining mechanism is different. The 1911 engages the slot on the side using the pushbutton for release, while the AMT uses a "bottom of the mag" hook type latch (similar to what a Ruger MK-II pistol uses).

The trigger is horrible! It feels like a plastic rod is bending when you pull it, and it's impossible to tell when it's going to fire.

I've heard that this is due to a "safety upgrade", but I think my son should install a good aftermarket trigger (but he doesn't want to).

    Oh well, it's his gun.....
