I seriously doubt that as China imports almost as much food as it raises. I can also say that China has KFC restraunts as I have seen them when on business trips there in the past. Additionally I saw a lot of agriculture driving through the country and I don't remember one Chicken coop operation. I did see many, many Duck raising farms, a lot of white ducks waddling around with a duck herder directing them to the pond at each location.

Maybe this is where the rumor came from.

Not true. They export cats which are relabeled as chickens.

Depending on their tax filing status, corporate quack.

They do get a ton of chicken from mexico though. Loads of live eggs from the Tyson hatcheries go down there from the states constantly where they raise them and then send them back either already slaughtered and packaged for sale at the stores or in bulk totes for processing plants. Hauled tons of those loads in and out of Laredo when i was doing the OTR thing.

Never tried it but I've heard that cat meat is really horrible.

You ever smelt something that was soaked in cat piss?

They say that's the general smell and flavor the meat has.

Now dog on the other hand is considered a delicacy by many peoples around the world and is said to be a kind of greasy meat with a very good taste.

Does that guy dress up in that blue Smurf suit to lull the ducks into a sense of security as he leads them to slaughter?

After all, if you can't trust a Smurf, who can you trust?

Nonsense is a good word for it. Think about it. America has TONS of chicken farms. Chickens aren't manufactured goods and thus affected by the labor costs of thousands of workers. If anything, we would probably use Chickens from NORTH America probably due to the transportation logistics. I'd believe Chickens from either Mexico or Canada before I'd believe such a large chain getting all of their poultry from China.

Now DUCKS are much more common in continental Asia being water fowl. That photo seems to be some rural farmer bringing his ducks to market...but rural China is not the most sanitary of places to eat .... And yes, I've eaten there (and suffered for it) But properly prepared, I do really like Chinese Duck dishes at good restaurants. Hmmm. I'm getting hungry. And not for cats in hats!

BTW...it's not KFC that imports chicken meat from China; it's McDonalds that imports its kangaroo meat from Australia.
