$2k for a plastic gun seems awfully high when you can get an AR for $750.

If these companies want to actually sell these things they need to get the price down to the $1000-$1200 range.

Amen brother!!! How they think they can sell enough rifle to justify $2000 has got me baffled, yet it seems all the new "futuristic" style rifles are $2000. FNS FS2000, Tavor, Scar 16 and 17 (the 17 breaks the $3000 barrier!!!) and on they go. I sure would love one of them, but I cannot justify $1000 more just for something that looks Flash Gordon cool.

Exclusivity, for the man who wants to be the only gun at the range with one.

Personally I think a daewoo DR200 is one of the best options out there for the non AR 5.56.

I see AIM had Tavor's but sold out of every model at well over $2200 each. Just WOW!

Speaking of expensive rifles made me think of the Robarms XCR rifles. I went an looked and now I see they have a .308 version and finally have something besides the old folding FAL paratrooper like buttstock. It looks very SCARish. Prices about $2K for the XCR L (.223 /5.56) and $2400 for the XCR M (.308).

The supply train bottleneck for the Tavor has about been ironed out. They have started wading thru the partial builds (some 2,000 were styfled due to one part or another) and shipping is immenant. A steady supply should help drop the price with competition.
