Britain fears chemical catastrophe if Syria's Assad goes

LONDON- Syria's huge array of chemical weapons could fall into the hands of militants if President Bashar Assad was toppled, with "catastrophic" consequences, according to a report by senior British lawmakers published on Wednesday.

Britain's foreign intelligence services had no doubt Syria owned "vast stockpiles" of such weapons, including mustard gas, sarin, ricin and VX, the deadliest nerve agent, parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) said in its report.

Are these among the same people that told Bush2 that there were chemical weapons in Iraq? Are these the chemicals that were in Iraq until the UN gave them time to move them out of country so we couldn't find them in order to make Bush2 look bad?

It was always my opinion that there were chemical weapons in Iraq prior to the invasion. Just ask the Kurds. What more evidence does the left need?

I remember reading an article in SOF years ago, that from intel, Russians helped Iraq move their NBC weapons (no N though) to Syria, before we invaded.

Hummm, I wonder if this statement has anything to do with the British Muslims....? I'll bet they are all for supporting Assad. Since Britain is turning Islamic, you will see more "concerned-for-the-good-of-all" statements coming from them about the goings-on the ME.
