About twelve or thirteen years ago, I had to travel to a client outside of Detroit. While driving from the airport to the client, I passed a billboard that advertised an MGM casino in downtown Detroit. Having a gambling problem, I made the detour to the casino. The route from the interstate to the casino took mr through some areas of Detroit that looked like a third world country. Dilapidated, crumbling and boarded up buildings were the rule rather than the exception. If it was that bad that long ago, I can imagine what it is like now.

Most of detroit looks like...Beruit. A war shattered shithole of turd world destruction. I have never seen any other place like it in America.

The United Artists Theater photo looks like one of those photos the remote-controlled diving camera took of the interior of the Titanic ballroom staircase.

It's a shame all those buildings went to ruin like that. I guess that's the end product of liberalism and corruption.

It's what the UN has in mind for every great city in the world, except for the one or two shining, modern ones they'll be living in. The rest of us (those of us they leave alive to labor for them) will be living in mud huts outside the walls.

I would love to go there and see it in real life

however my lack of an APC/a squad of mechanized infantry, and the fact that carrying around an ak-74 is frowned upon are obstacles to big to overcome

You should go in one man on a glider, like Snake Plissken. Don't forget to bring a suppressor.

I am not sure which would be wilder, a trip through detroit or a trip through cherynobyl. At least in Cherynobyl you don't have to worry about the natives.

Hell no would I walk around there unarmed.

Except that Fallout 3 has better music than modern Detroit.

It is hard to believe that at one time all those dilapidated and crumbling and boarded up buildings were once shiny, neat and clean, and a gift to those who don't appreciate what this country truly stood for.

This is what happens when someone doesn't have a stake in what they have. Give it to them free and they don't care, and Detroit is the end result of give-aways.

Detroit is what happens when liberal Democrats run everything.

Once upon a time long long ago Detroit was a shining jewel amongst American cities.

The Motor City was a proud and glorious example of American industry and ingenuity.

    The American dream in action.

It's all gone now and the dream has become a nightmare.

Just a burned out after-the-Apocalypse husk of what once was.

    What a shame.

Gary, Indiana and parts of Chicago look just like that....
We found out what "dealing" with progressive lefties is all about. Our side gives up something, they give up nothing and the progressives come back in a month or a year and want us to give up more... rinse and repeat...
