Been on a mag buying spree.....

Went to a local place, traded a bunch of old east block ak gear for 4 used but in good shape ar15 30 rd mags. 2 are colt, stamoped on the mag body and floorplate, early 2000's. The other two are used but good shape Center Ind mags, early 2000's. Just bought 3 brand new in wrapper center ind mags off gunbroker for $10.50 apiece....

So strange, because I never thought I'd get into ar's like this. But heck, they are cooler than I ever really thought.

I sold my aluminum mags to a friend in need this january, I'm all P-mags now. 9 old ones, 9 gen 3's, and a gen2 with a window that lives in the gun.

Heres the best deal in AR mags going right now: http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.as...GSIN00BT00PINK

Just take the pink base plate off and replace it with the flat black one that comes with every Troy mag.

Also Palmetto arms has C-products black teflon aluminum magazines for $7.99.

I don't know why, but I just prefer the traditional aluminium mags.....Just cannot get into plastics. I can see how they are probably superior....Just like the metal.....I have always thought the ar looked cool with the gray mag hanging out the bottom of it....

Trust me when I say looking cool isn't nearly as good as working flawlessly. The stock GI mags are mediocre in function ... frequently. lf they have the old black followers, very iffy in function if loaded with more than 28 rounds. Those titty pink follower Troys are very fine mags, at least the standard green follower versions I have are. They ARE stronger than the Aluminum mags. If you step on the GI mag it pretty well is dead, not so with the Pmag or the Troy Battle Mag.

Aluminum GI mags are easy to damage the feed lips and once that happens, double feeds and jamming will be the norm from the mag. Do your self a favor and get some of those Troys or PMags.

No not yet, but I think the Lancers look very good. My web research says they are good as well.

I know what you mean. When I got my AR I was all about finding the metal mags and just kept skipping over all the p-mags and such that I found. Boy did I kick myself in the ass for that this past year! But during the '13 shortage, I was finding mags at $30 to $50 and no cheaper all over the place. So out of desperation when I saw Troy Industries CBIR Battle mags at AIM for $14 apiece I jumped on it. I actually like Troy's CBIR's much better than the metal ones. I like them so much I haven't even tried any of Magpul's well reputed magazines!

Just ordered Tango Down rail covers to replace all my Troy covers. When the Tango Downs arrive, the Troys are coming off and going to the bandsaw. I know the money is already spent and I probably even bought them before they hired the murder accomplice, but I can't stand to even look at them.

I got the model from Bandai.

    No.

They hired two bad guys. One was an FBI guy involved in the Ruby Ridge murders. The other was an outspoken anti-gun retired Chicago PD official. They fired the cop and kept the FBI guy. Even put out a press release supporting him.

You going to send the cut up covers back to Troy with a letter explaining them? You spent the money probably before they hired the scumbags. You aren't hurting them directly at this point in time unless you do make the statement so they hear it. Otherwise it is a tree falling in the woods with nobody around to hear it fall. Zero impact.

My problem with the troy battlemags (excepting their POS employee issues) is that they don't work in my bushmasters. The bolt ends up catching on the follower. I go with pmags for polymer, and D&H's for metal

    anyway, deals on mags

    I recently bought a 10 pack of P-Mags from Brownell's for $120.

Magpul left Colorado and moved to Wyoming because of Colorados new gun control laws. Not only are they the best out there, but they put their money where freedom is.
