i read the story. looks like it is starting to get buried on CBC already. Just a small little blurb.

As for gun control working. You know as well as I do that they will never get them all and guns last forever in storage. Just an example I have a swede mauser made in 1899 that still has Cosmo in it.

    That was a crazy story.
"Nothing ever gets so bad that government "help" can't make it worse." Pat Garrett, March 22, 2014

"HATE IS GOOD, WHEN ITS DIRECTED AT EVIL." PROBASCO, April 20, 2012

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

Mr Huber legally owned several weapons and a hoard of ammunition, AFP reported. Among his firearms was a powerful hunting rifle able to pierce protective clothing, reports said.

A .22 will "pierce protective clothing" if that clothing happens to be a raincot.

Call in the military? What was it, another Waco compound?

And it seems to me that more than 1 firearm with a handful of ammo would be considered well beyond the norm in "Gun free" europe.

He probably had a bolt action .308 hunting rifle, or something similar to that. Now the government in Austria will probably try to crack down on those "sniper rifles."

Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner described the events as "unprecedented" in the history of the Austrian police.
    Yeaaaaah....

    Ok...

Apparently the eurotrash suckers in Austria have forgotten all about a certain questionably skilled painter with a seriously butt freakin ugly moustache that you willingly voted for about 7 or 8 decades ago...
History has a severe case of stuttering complicated by chronic hiccups.
It always repeats itself and it never fails that something will go horribly wrong along the way.

Direct democracy is a gang rape. Eight men vote to rape one woman and the woman has to accept it because the majority decided that it was ok. A constitutional republic on the other hand is eight men and one woman with a full mag. Think about it for a while until it hurts your head.

Perhaps the current "Austrian police" were established in '46
