Well that did not go well

I went on a job interview last week. I thought it went very well. I left feeling I had this, let the negotiations start. I sent a thank you email saying how I had enjoyed the visit and how I felt it was a good fit. I mean I was well qualified for this job. The next thing I know I get a terse generic email saying I had not been selected for the job and my thank you email had been blocked and bounced back. OUCH! Did I have a terrible odor. Did I somehow offend? I have had very friendly rejection letters in my past. But this time I am left feeling that I just had the door slammed in my face in a most disrespectful manner from a multi billion dollar corp. You would think they could do better than that!?

Unfortunately in the current corporate environment, you are nothing more than a number. And the reason your email was most likely blocked is a the company goes into self protection mode when they turn someone down, fully expecting to find themselves in the news media when the disgruntled turned down applicant comes in with a bolt action semi-automatic pump double barrel AR-15.

I work as a contractor or job shop agency employee most of the time... The large engineering companies I've worked for sucked and so do most of the oil and chemical majors. Too much politics....

They may have not wanted you to find out a lessor applicant of the right pigmentation or gender or a foreign national got hired for the position... You would have a suet...
